Sky Glass Ireland Update Rollout Lands with New Features

Sky Ireland is rolling out their Entertainment OS version 1.1 across their Sky Glass and Sky Stream platforms. With it, the service will deliver a host of new features aimed at finding what you want quicker. Entertainment OS 1.1 brings ‘Personalised Playlists’ and the new Play voice command to get into your shows or movie instantly. Sky Ireland will roll out the v1.1 update to Entertainment OS, Glass and Steam devices on 4th February 2023.

Sky Personalised Playlists

Your Personalised Playlist lets create a list of everything you want to watch from the TV guide, On-Demand services and streaming apps. Up to five users can fill up their Personalised Playlist by pressing the ‘+’ button on the Sky remote.

Sky Glass TV colour

There are five slots for Personalised Playlists. Maybe one each and one for all the family. Or leave the Fireman Sam for the children while The Last of Us, Gangs of London or Below Deck can be kept for the adults.

Sky TV Play Command

Sky’s new ‘Play’ voice command lets you pick up from where you left off, be it what you watched last or anything from your massive library. Additionally, users can play what they have highlight on-screen or play a show or movie from its Now and Next rail, TV Guide or Programme Page.

Sky will play that content from the start if you haven’t watch that particular episode or movie before. Or it will play right from where you left off if you left something hanging.

Film and TV buffs can delve into an actor or director by saying ‘Play’ with a particular artist. Similarly, when exploring an actor, director or crew member’s rail, uttering ‘Play’ can start your journey into their back catalogue.

Sky Bluetooth Update

Sky Entertainment OS 1.1 also brings a Bluetooth headphone update to Ireland. Users can listen to their content via Bluetooth headphones while Sky Glass TV plays through it speakers in a welcome accessibility addition.

If you have a family member of guest who is hard of hearing, they can listen through the headphones while their company can listen through the TV speakers.
