Sony has added three new party speakers to its ULT Power Sound line, with the ULT Tower Max, ULT Tower 7 and ULT Tower 5 arriving as the most muscular take on the series yet. The trio leans heavily into bass, sound pressure and party‑friendly features, with Sony pitching them at anyone who wants to feel the music as much as hear it.
The company has built the new range around large circular woofers, bigger cabinets and its ULT Duct system. These all work together to push low‑frequency performance further than previous ULT models. The design language has been toughened up too, with a more imposing, event‑ready look.
Sony says the tuning process involved a roster of hip‑hop producers and engineers, including Dot Da Genius, Daru Jones, Dready and Dennis “ROC.am” Jones. Their feedback was used to shape the speakers’ low‑end weight, impact and vocal clarity, with the aim of delivering a more expressive, performance‑style sound.
ULT Mate
Each model includes Sony’s ULT button, offering ULT1, ULT2, FLAT and LIVE modes. ULT1 adds depth and weight to bass, ULT2 pushes harder again with more physical impact, FLAT aims for a faithful reproduction of the source, while LIVE widens the presentation while keeping vocals clear. Users can also tweak EQ through the Sony Sound Connect app.
The new circular woofer design sits at the centre of the range. On the ULT Tower Max, two front woofers and a rear woofer combine with a high‑powered amplifier rated at up to 2150 watts. The ULT Tower 7 delivers up to 420 watts, while the compact ULT Tower 5 reaches up to 300 watts.

Max and 7 also offer 360 Party Sound. This shoots audio around the room so listeners don’t have to stand in a sweet spot. The Max then uses four tweeters, mid‑range drivers and its rear woofer to fill larger spaces with more even coverage. Sony’s Sound Field Optimisation analyses placement and ambient noise, adjusting the full frequency balance to keep things clear and controlled. The speakers can be positioned vertically or horizontally depending on the setup.
Moving Soundstage
Connectivity covers XLR, RCA and USB‑C, making the range suitable for casual parties or more structured DJ rigs. Multiple compatible speakers can be linked in stereo for wider coverage. Lighting modes include BEAT, WAVE and MELLOW, each designed for different atmospheres.
Portability has been improved with better carry handles and upgraded wheels on the Max and the 7. The 7 and the 5 also carry an IPX4 rating when upright, making them suitable for outdoor use. Battery life is quoted at up to 30 hours on the Tower 7. And up to 20 hours on the Tower 5.

Irish pricing lands as follows. The ULT Tower Max arrives in September 2026 at €1499. The ULT Tower 7 is priced €549. And the ULT Tower 5 comes in at €379.
