Lenovo has announced Tab Plus Gen 2, a follow‑up to last year’s entertainment‑focused tablet, with upgrades across audio, display quality, flexibility and AI‑powered features. The company says the new model is designed for people who move fluidly between watching, working and sharing content throughout the day.
The headline feature is undoubtedly a JBL‑engineered nine‑speaker system tuned with Dolby Atmos. Lenovo claims the setup delivers clearer dialogue and deeper bass, with enough presence to fill a room. A Bluetooth speaker mode allows the tablet to act as a standalone speaker controlled from a phone, while Dolby Audio processing offers Dynamic, Movie and Music modes for more tailored listening.
Display of Intent
The display has also been upgraded. The new 12.1‑inch 2.5K LCD panel supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. Lenovo is also quoting up to 800 nits in High Brightness Mode for better visibility outdoors. The company positions the screen as a companion to the enhanced audio, aiming to create a more immersive viewing experience.

Flexibility is another focus. The Tab Plus Gen 2 includes a 360‑degree rotating kickstand that supports portrait and landscape use across a range of positions. Lenovo suggests it can be propped for watching films in bed, leaned for following recipes, stood upright for video calls or even hung up when space is tight. A standby mode turns the tablet into a digital photo frame when not in active use. A tailored carrying sleeve with a shoulder strap will also be available.
AI‑powered features include Lenovo AI Live Transcript with real‑time translation, designed to help users follow content in different languages. Lenovo Smarter Reader offers tools for easier reading and navigation, while AI Notes in Lenovo Notepad aims to streamline note‑taking and organisation.
Huge Battery
To fire the nine-speakers, the tablet is powered by a 10,200mAh battery. With this huge cell, Lenovo says Tab Plus Gen 2 can deliver up to 15 hours of YouTube streaming. Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 also features support for 45W fast charging. The tab also works with the Lenovo Tab Pen Plus, Lenovo Wireless Keyboard and Lenovo 68W USB‑C Wall Charger.

Lenovo says the Tab Plus Gen 2 is intended to blend into daily life rather than dictate how it is used, combining stronger audio, a sharper display and a more adaptable design.
