Empire Earth Enters Steam Epoch with Rebellion

Rebellion has brought the classic real time strategy series Empire Earth to Steam for the first time, giving modern PC players access to one of the genre’s landmark franchises. The studio confirmed that all three entries are now available individually or as part of a new collection.

Empire Earth first launched in 2001 and quickly became a major hit during what many fans consider the golden age of RTS games. Players guide a civilisation from the prehistoric era through to the far future by managing resources, researching technologies and also adapting to the shifting demands of each epoch.

The series went on to sell more than two million copies before the release of its sequel II in 2005. The series’ third and final entry then arrived in 2007.

The Steam release includes Empire Earth: Gold Edition, which features seven single player campaigns and spans 5,000 years of history. Players command land, sea and air forces across 15 epochs, from the discovery of fire to futuristic laser warfare.

Empire Earth III takes a different approach with its World Domination mode. The game divides the planet into provinces that can be conquered in any order. This allows players to build a global civilisation across a fully rendered Earth. All three titles include their full single player campaigns, with LAN multiplayer available for up to eight players.
