Pokémon: The Isle of Armor

The Magic of Pokémon: The Isle of Armor – Abra-Kadabra!

Pokémon: The Isle of Armor has a lot of content post-story, alongside some quality of life improvements. In an expansion that puts the player’s focus on exploration, Armor is a great place to roam once players have finished with the dojo.

With that being said; there’s still work to be done in the dojo. Players can opt-in for a type-specific, ‘Battle Tower’ mini-game entitled ‘Restricted Sparring’. This is a far more efficient way of racking up BP (Battle Points) in the post-game compared with the vanilla Battle Tower. I’d go as far as to say as double the yield when comparing time spent doing both activities.

Essential Wattage

Watts has become an important commodity on the Isle of Armor, so much so that Master Mustard’s good lady, Honey, will exchange Watts for improvements to the dojo. This ranges from hairdressers to vending machines for Zinc, Carbos, HP Up, and more at a drastically reduced price. EV training has subsequently never been easier.

Pokémon Sword Shield Isle of Armor

Alolan Diglett hunting is also a thing, providing players with gift Pokémon as a thank you for finding all 151 ground types. Most of these gift Pokémon are Alolan variants of in-game Pokémon alongside some familiar starters from the last generation of games Oh, and they all may have hidden abilities, just saying.

Pokémon

When it comes to completing the Armor Pokédex, Armor has final evolution mons walking around in precise spawnable locations. All players need to do to make the process easier is to use the weather changing method (outlined by Austin John Plays here) to cycle through the different spawned Pokémon. This could be the difference between an Alakazam and a Zeraora!

Myriad Stuff

The plethora of items hidden around the Isle of Armor is impressive From Flame Orbs to Evolution stones, players have yet another quality of life adjustment to the overall Pokémon Sword and Shield experience. Granted, players will have to hunt items down that are spawned randomly (almost), but picking up anything that sparkles is a great rule of thumb.

Pokémon Armor

Well, it’s been great exploring the Isle of Armor, but now I’m hungry for more (being honest, I’m always hungry… but that’s not the point.). The second part of the expansion pass, The Crown Tundra promises a boatload of legendaries and yet another unique landscape to explore later this year.

The Isle of Armor is worth every penny and is the most bountiful addition to an existing generation ever. Long live Pokémon Expansion passes, I think the fandom has had its fill of slightly adjusted cop-out games. Bar Pokémon Yellow, that was insane.
