Sony has announced a new model in its entry-level portable audio line, WF-C700N. Sony WF-700N are true wireless earbuds that promise immersive sound quality and impressive noise cancellation for around €119/£99.99.
At the same time, Sony also announced the new Midnight Blue model of their well-received WH-1000XM5 line, more on that here…
High Comfort
Sony WF-C700N have been designed with comfort and stability in mind, no matter the size of your ears.
The WF-C700N earbuds have been sculpted using extensive ear shape data that has been collated since the Japanese tech introduced the world’s first in-ear headphones in 1982. The audio characteristics have also been modeled using data on the evaluation of the sensitivity of various types of ears.

WF-C700N earbuds boast an ergonomic surface design for a more stable fit and Sont say users can listen for longer without needing a break.
High Style
The cylindrical charging case is small and should be easy to carry around in a pocket or bag. The case has a patterned texture for a luxurious look and feel.
Sony WF-C700N are available in four colours – Black, White, Lavender and Sage Green.
Less Background Noise
Sony WF-C700N lets users quiet background noise with ANC mode or keep an ear on their surroundings using Ambient Sound Mode.
In Ambient Sound mode, the feedforward mics capture more of the ambient sound around you. Users can enjoy a natural listening experience while being able to hear their environment.

Users can even personalise the settings within the Sony Headphones Connect app. Or use the ‘Focus on Voice’ setting to chat without removing your earbuds.
Sony Adaptive Sound Control
Sony WF-C700N also feature Adaptive Sound Control which adjusts ambient sound settings depending on where you are and what you’re doing. It recognises locations that you frequently visit, such as your workplace or the gym and switches the sound modes that suit the situation.
With this, you can seamlessly move through your surroundings all while WF-700N automatically selects your favourite profile.
High Fidelity
Sony WF-C700N feature DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine), an upscaler to restore some sparkle to highly compressed music files. For example, those on streaming services like YouTube or Spotify.
WF-C700N pack an original 5mm driver which Sony say offers powerful bass and a clear upper register despite their small size. Users can also change your music to fit your taste with the EQ settings on the Sony Headphones Connect app.
Reliability
The set contains enough juice to run a total of 15 hours while IPX4 water resistance mean they can go almost anywhere. Sony WF-C700N wireless earphones also feature multipoint connection. The set can be paired with two Bluetooth devices at the same time. And when a call comes in, your earbuds automatically connects to the right one.
The WF-C700N also provides reliable call quality thanks the Wind Noise Reduction Structure which delivers your voice clearly, even on a windy day.
And finally, Sony WF-C700N has been crafted with sustainability in mind. Zero plastic is included in the packaging material.
Pricing and availability
The WF-C700N is available in Ireland and the UK from April 2023 priced at €119/£99.99.
