Sony WF-1000XM5 also promise an upgrade to the company’s acclaimed active noise-cancellation. The unit can even charge up to an hour’s listening in just three minutes.

Leading ANC Improvements

Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds feature real-time audio processors and three high-performance mics per bud. The setup is powered by Sony’s own specially designed driver unit Dynamic Driver X to deliver for wide frequency reproduction, deep bass and clear vocals.

The three microphones on each earbud include dual feedback mics, which improve low-frequency cancellation performance. Sony claims that the WF-1000XM5 represents their biggest ever step forward in noise cancelling. The Integrated Processor V2, new from Sony, takes full advantage of the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN2e.

The ability to reproduce lower frequencies has also been improved on the WF-1000XM5 thanks to the new Dynamic Driver X. The Noise Isolation Earbud Tips also feature a unique polyurethane foam material that reduces noise in the high frequency range.

Tuned In

Sony WF-1000XM5 wireless earphones have been tuned specifically for music. The earbuds use Dynamic Driver X for more clarity at the low and high end of your tracks.
A proprietary diaphragm structure then combines several different materials for the dome and the edge to offer clear highs and deep, rich bass sound with low distortion.

Sony’s newly developed HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN2e and Integrated Processor V2 combine to allow WF-1000XM5 wireless earphones to handle precision 24-bit audio processing and high-performance analogue amplification.

Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds support for High-Resolution Audio Wireless thanks to LDAC. The unit also supports DSEE Extreme to upscale compressed digital music in real time. Additionally, WF-1000XM5 earbuds feature 360 Reality Audio to create an immersive 3D audio experience.

WF-1000XM5 earbuds also come equipped with head-tracking technology that automatically adjusts sound fields to compensate for your head movement. Sounds are then precisely aligned with your smartphone screen, even as you move.

Drowned Out

Sony has cleverly included bone conduction sensors, which, along with AI-powered noise reduction, allows for clear voice capture even in a noisy environment. While outdoors, a special wind reduction system minimises noise on the other end.

Marathon Wearer

Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds are modeled after the human ear, with an ergonomic design that ensures a secure and stable fit. And Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds are around 25% smaller and around 20% lighter than predecessor WF-1000XM4 so they’re even more comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Newly designed Noise Isolation Earbud Tips enhance the fit and increase comfort by reducing pressure in the ear. The earbud tips come in four different sizes so you can choose the perfect fit for your ears.

Which is just as well, as Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds can run for up to eight hours. And a new Quick Charge system allows for up to one hour of listening with just three minutes charging.

Additionally, Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds can go anywhere with you. The set offer IPx4 water resistance to tackle your routine or the intermittent rain falling on these dewy isles.

Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds are available from August 2023 priced at around €320/£259.
