Irish users of Sky Glass, the all-in-one broadband-fed television set, will get a limited selection of BBC on demand content as promised.
Sky told TechStomper that shortly after its Irish Sky Glass launch on 25th August 2022, BBC on demand content would be added to their robust programme selection and ‘Playlist’ feature.

From Monday 10th October 2022, a wide selection of BBC on demand content will be available to all Sky customer.
This is the first time in Ireland that a dedicated BBC on demand service will allow viewers to access some of BBC’s vast OD library.
British TV hits like ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, ‘Ghosts’, ‘Frozen Planet’ and ‘Hey Duggee’ will be available from the 10th October.
To access BBC on demand content on your Sky Glass TV, simply search for the programme you want to watch using voice command, or browse all available content by selecting ‘TV Shows’ on your Sky Glass homepage and clicking on the BBC tile.
Match of the Day on Demand in Ireland
Sky Ireland say they are working “closely with BBC Studios and independent production companies, to continue to unlock content rights in Ireland and programmes will appear for Sky Glass customers, as and when they become available.”
TechStomper reached out to Sky Ireland on whether the popular Premier League highlights programme, Match of the Day, would be available. Sky Ireland confirmed that Match of the Day is amongst the content that it is working with BBC to bring on demand to Irish customers.
Sky Glass TV Ireland Pricing
Customers can buy the Sky Glass TV hardware by paying upfront or by spreading the cost with interest-free monthly payments.
Sky Glass starts from €15 per month over four years for the 43” Sky Glass TV. For just €5 more, you can increase the size of your TV to a 55”. Or you can choose the 65” Sky Glass TV for €26 per month over four years.
The interest-free payment options are also available over a two-year period. Or the unit cost can be paid upfront at €755 (43″), €999 (55″) and €1,299 (65″).
Sky Glass comes with a full two-year warranty and a free delivery service that includes unboxing and packaging removal.

The service then starts with Sky Ultimate TV at €27 per month for 12 months, €38 thereafter. It’s worth noting that the Sky Ultra HDR with Dolby Atmos package costs €10 per month. You’ll probably need this package to get the best from the TV hardware. Though you can still enjoy HDR and Atmos content from other sources without that subscription.
