Samsung Galaxy S23 Series preview – Snapdragon Project Promises Performance Edge

Samsung have unveiled their latest premium line-up. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 are touted by the Korean electronics giant as the ‘ultimate’ premium smartphone experience ahead of their 17 February 2023 release.

The series comes with two major boasts. One is Galaxy S23 series’ Nightography video which leans heavily on a propriertary AI to deliver cinematic results. The other is Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy which boasts the world’s fastest mobile graphics and the next generation in AI.

Creative Control Suite

Samsung Galaxy S23 series uses its state-of-the-art AI power to wring the best possible shots in an wide range of situations. Samsung says the series’ camera systems are tailored for almost any lighting condition. The series offers improved Nightography capabilities, transforming the AI optimisation of photo and video across the range of night-time scenarios.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra uses a new 200MP Adaptive Pixel sensor that uses pixel binning to process multiple levels of high-resolution processing simultaneously. Galaxy S23 series introduces fast autofocus and Super HDR selfie camera, now at 60fps.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series offers a suite of tools to enhance the mobile photography experience. An ‘Expert RAW’ app is available exclusively on Samsung Galaxy. The app enables DSLR-style imaging and editing in RAW and JPEG.

Camera Focused

Galaxy S23 Ultra removes the blur associated with low-light or fast-action videos with a doubled optical image stabiliser (OIS) that processes all angles. Enhanced 8K video at 30 frames per second is now shot with a wider angle to make videos feel more cinematic.

Advanced object-based AI analyses every detail in the shot to carefully reflect a person’s unique characteristics. Using Samsung Galaxy S23 series with Galaxy Buds2 Pro allows a new 360 Audio Recording feature that captures 3D audio.

Premium Gaming Platform

Samsung and Qualcomm have optimised the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform especially for the series. The pair promise the most efficient platform on the market as well as the fastest Snapdragon chip to date.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra provides a 5,000mAh battery without increasing heft over S22 Ultra. Galaxy S23 Ultra also supports real-time ray tracing as it stands to break into the mobile gaming mainstream. Galaxy’s vapour chamber cooling should keep the device in the temperature sweet spot for long gaming sessions.

Tougher but Environmentally Friendlier

S23 series is also that little tougher and more durable wrapped in Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series is UL ECOLOGO certified for its reduced environmental impact. Samsang Galaxy S23 series also come in a redesigned packaging box which applied paper made with 100 per cent recycled paper.

Galaxy S23 series is also in it for the long run. Samsung have promised four generations of OS upgrades and five years of security updates for Galaxy S23 series.

The Galaxy S23 Series comes in four nature-inspired matte hues: Green, Lavender, Cream and Phantom Black and is available to pre-order from today.

Starting on 17 February, 2023, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 will be widely available with operators, retailers and on Samsung.com.

For customers in Ireland who pre-order Galaxy S23 Ultra and S23+ from Samsung.com, Samsung will offer double the storage on the 256GB model- giving you 512GB for the price of 256GB. For customers pre-ordering a Galaxy S23 series device from Samsung.com, Samsung will double storage on the 128GB model – giving 256GB for the price of 128GB. Pre-orders must be made by the 16th February to have access to this offer.
