OPPO has unveiled its next-generation foldable smartphones at its INNO Day 2023. OPPO Find N2 and Find N2 Flip carry some impressive features with a mix of hardware and software solutions tailored for the foldable experience. The pair are set for immediate launch in China with a global release in the first quarter of 2023.
The Find N2 Foldable Smartphone Series is the Chinese company’s second generation of the phone format. OPPO Find N2 is the follow-up to the promising Find N. Find N2 Flip is the company’s very first flip-style device.
Future Hinges
The most jaw-dropping figure of merit around OPPO Find N2 is probably its weight. Despite folding out to a 7.1-inch tablet display, the devices start at just 233 grams for the vegan leather version. The other options are scarcely heavy at 237 grams.
In addition, the device is just 14.6mm thick while folded. This light weight and slim form are starting to sound a lot more pocketable than earlier foldables. And that’s massively important to the average consumer.

The outer screen is a full-sized 5.6″ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh and a seering 1,000 nits high brightness mode. There are no compromise made for the outer screen and with the device closing without a gap, this display will see a lot of use.
A lot of the leap forward in design and usability hinges upon OPPO’s ‘Flexion Hinge’. Pun intended. The Flexion Hinge is composed of 100 individual pieces, 36 fewer than the original design. OPPO also incorporated carbon fibre and metal alloys to reduce weight but increase rigidity and structural integrity. A massive 42 grams was saved on the Flexion Hinge.
OPPO Find N2 Flip – Flip/Tuck
The more accessible of the two devices in the OPPO Find N2 Flip. The device is similarly slim at just 16mm when closed and an incredible 191 grams.
The flip-style form factor is likely to be the first foldable style to reach a wide market and OPPO Find N2 Flip could be the one to make the breakthrough on how very pocketable the device is. That 6.8″ display offers huge real estate from a tiny puck that slips in to any pocket.
OPPO have also aimed for a ‘zero compromise’ experience with Flip N2 Flip. A 120Hz AMOLED display, a full-sized 4,300mAh battery and a splashproof design.
Not only do you get the piece of mind of the splashproof design and the inherent screen protection of a clamshell design, you also get a large AMOLED display on the outside. OPPO Find N2 Flip’s outer display is, in fact, the largest seen in a flip-style device.
That 3.25-inch outer display is also covered in a thick layer of Gorilla Glass and can show 6 full-sized notifications for a lot of info at a glance.
