Nokia launched four devices in total yesterday 12 July 2022. Three of these, Nokia 8210 4G and Nokia 2660 Flip feature phones, and Nokia T10 Tablet are fine additions to their line-up. 8210 4G’s stylish old-school business. 2660 Flip’s safety and accessibility. T10’s rugged compact 8″ form factor. However, it’s Nokia 5710 XpressAudio that has caught the press and public’s imagination with its integrated stereo wireless earphones.

Like They Used To

Nokia were undisputed top dogs when phones were still fun. Their ability to innovate (mostly) without compromising the build quality or charging outrageous prices saw some amazing form factors and hardware features takes hold.

Nokia 5300 and 5610 XpressMusic devices are two prime examples which Nokia 5710 XpressAudio draws much inspiration from.

The music playback buttons straddling the display are supremely useful while the red colour running in a band around the device ties 5710 XpressAudio to its lineage visually.

Playback features like this bolster the device’s biggest selling point and feature. Nokia 5710 XpressAudio comes with a set of stereo earphones tucked behind a sliding door on the rear of the device.

The earbuds charge in that integrated cradle. Nokia claim the sliding door is robust enough to withstand pocket life and repeated use. We can’t verify that right now but many would take the company that forged 3310 at their word.

Feature Phone

Nokia 5710 XpressAudio boasts MP3 playback with 128MB of storage built-in. Music lovers might need a bit more than that but MicroSD cards of up to 32GB can be installed.

The device has a relatively large 2.4″ TFT LCD display but is paired with a 1,450mAh battery. We expect Nokia 5710 XpressAudio to have the excellent stamina of a feature phone.

Similarly, the device sports a relatively powerful processor for what it does.

Remarkably, the device is only 16.2mm deep despite the in-built earphones and generous battery.
