Samsung unleashed a series of new devices at their Unpacked 2022 event this week. Among them was a new Pro addition to their Buds line-up, Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro.
The Korean electronics giant has released a host of well-received Buds overs the years, including the smooth-sounding Galaxy Buds+ and innovative, diminutive Galaxy Buds Live

2022’s premium Buds aim to offer a bit of both. Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro offer hi-res sound in a pocketable package.
Pro Sound
Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro supports hi-res 24-bit audio offering greater dynamic range straight out of the gate. Samsung claims their new two-way coaxial drivers deliver ‘crystal-clear’ multi-channel HiFi performance.
Another boast Samsung are making is around the ‘Samsung Seamless Codec’ or SSC HiFi. The proprietary format enables high-quality music and other audio to be transferred without latency.
The set offers ‘Auto Switch’ which enables a smooth transition between media consumption and taking a call. Samsung say that Galaxy Buds2 Pro can seamlessly switch the audio connection between connected devices with the touch of a finger.
Shrunken Galaxy
Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro is crammed into a compact design 15 percent smaller than Galaxy Buds Pro.
Galaxy Buds2 Pro have been engineered to prevent rotation in the ear and deliver a secure fit, something than keep-fitters will love.
When charged to 100%, the buds offer up to 8 hours of play-time with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). There’s another 29 hours in the case when it too is fully charged.
With ANC, Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro still promise up to an impressive 5 hours of listening in the buds alone from a full charge. The case when fully charged can add up to 18 with the ANC on. The charging cradle can be charged wirelessly and, depending on your region, pre-orders come with a 15W Super Fast Wireless Charger Pad (redeemable here from 26 August till 25 October 2022).
Smart Buds
Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro feature a new, more efficient ANC to eliminate outside noise. Each earbud leverages three high signal-to-noise ratio mics to model the external din before applying the phase cancellation.
Buds2 Pro will open the Ambient Noise Channel when you are speaking during a call, allowing you to hear your voice and keep it to an appropriate volume. While you aren’t speaking, the channel returns to your chosen ANC setting so you can still hear the other person on the line.
Samsung’s new ‘SmartThings Find’ can help you locate a lost earbud even if that lost bud is outside of the cradle. Something that should offer peace of mind when you misplace a bud on your commute.

Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro are available to pre-order now and available from 26 August 2022. The set is priced at €239/£219.
