- Recap and Chaos
Begin the Detective Pikachu Prologue by revisiting past events during Mayor Myers’ prestigious award ceremony. Witness the disruption caused by a rogue Corviknight, resulting in Pikachu losing his signature hat.
- Collect the Mayor’s Journal
Move left from the ceremony podium to spot Mayor Myers’ journal lying on the ground. Interact with it by pressing ‘A’ to examine its contents.
- Investigate Pikachu’s Hat
Descend the left ramp to check for Pikachu’s missing hat and Corviknight. Instead, you’ll encounter William Butler and an injured Pidove.
- Speak with Pidove
This is the start of the Detective tutorial. Leverage Pikachu’s unique ability to converse with Pokemon. Engage with the other Pidove to gain insights into the situation.
- Interview the Area’s Pokemon
Begin questioning the area’s Pokemon. Speak to Magnemite, located on the right side of the podium. Then, move towards the left to interact with Xatu, despite its reluctance. Finally, head to the far left to converse with Aromatisse, known for its delightful scent.
- Seek Aromatisse’s Help
Given Pidove’s fondness for pleasant scents, kindly request Aromatisse’s assistance. Then, speak to one of the two Pidove besides Aromatisse and request them to move. This will then allow it to go over to the knocked-out Pidove, which in turn will wake it up.
- Pursue Corviknight
Chase after Corviknight by moving left, remaining engaged in the unfolding storyline.
- Investigate Produce Boxes
Move left through Rhyme City to pursue Corviknight, and players will stumble upon an Alolan Executor. Speak to Applin on the street to learn about the commotion. Discover that Applin and its friends accidentally tumbled out of the produce boxes.
- Locate the Missing Applin
Your task now is to find two missing Applin. Find the first Applin at the top right and press ‘A’ to unveil it. Detect the second Applin hiding behind the wooden box on the right, under Detective Pikachu’s hat. Hover over the box and press ‘A’ to reveal it.
The hat Applin will then scamper off to the Exeggutor tree, prompting Pikachu to retrieve his beloved hat.
- Prevent Pikachu’s Falls
As Pikachu bravely climbs, be ready to press the ‘A’ button when prompted. This action will ensure Pikachu’s safety and prevent him from falling.
- Conclusion and Announcement
The award ceremony can finally resume after successfully assisting Pidove and Applin and retrieving Pikachu’s cherished hat. Head back home with Pikachu and Tim.
