The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to be given a free PS5 and Xbox Series X facelift, developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed.
The Polish devs confirmed that the next-gen port will feature a bunch of enhancements over the current-gen including faster load times (thankya SSD’s) and improved graphics.
Raytracing will also be included in the next-gen offering and hopefully an improved frame rate as well.
These upgrades will apply to the base game along with the two hefty expansions, namely Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone.
If you own the base game on PS4, Xbox One or PC, all these upgrades will be available to you for free. For many people, The Witcher 3 is the best game released on current-gen consoles. But, it’s one game this writer has yet to experience.
If you’ve yet to buy The Witcher 3, it’s regularly on sale for around €10-€15 on the PlayStation store.
Following on from the success of The Witcher series on Netflix, sales for the 2015 game surged on the back of it.
CD Projekt Red has yet to reveal when this next-gen version will be available but it’s unlikely to be available at console launch given it’s rumoured to be around 8 weeks away.
It’s also yet to be revealed how much The Witcher 3 for PS5 and Xbox Series X will cost if you don’t own the current-gen version.
