When it comes to controllers, Turtle Beach is not the first name that comes to mind. In my head, they are the kings of gaming headsets. Over the past few years, however, they have moved into the controller market with some notable models. Stealth Ultra and Stealth Pivot are the two main ones that stand out, but it is fair to say they sit at the higher end of the spectrum, with both priced at over £120/€140. So, when I saw Turtle Beach Rematch Advanced Wired Controller for Xbox Series XS, Xbox One, and Windows 10/11 PCs was on the way, I was interested. It was the £35.99/€39.99 price tag that really caught my attention.

This is a more budget-friendly option with a striking look, as the Rematch Advanced comes in a number of different colourways, including Kyoto Bloom and Cotton Candy.
I tried the Dark Cosmos Edition, which features a bold, cosmic-inspired design with a lenticular top shell. Depending on how you look at the controller, you will either see stars in the galaxy or a ring-like halo effect. It is extremely impressive, one of the best-looking controllers I have ever tested visually.
Alternate Aesthetics
It is worth noting that the other colours have unique features too. For example, the Cotton Candy version glows in the dark after exposure to UV light, while the Blue Kitsune lights up blue when you plug it in.
This may be something of a gimmick. However, there is no denying they look seriously cool, and it is likely one of the main reasons many people will pick one up.
Party Pieces
Looking beyond the eye-catching colourways and their party tricks, the controller itself feels a little odd in hand at first due to the lenticular cover, but after a while you get used to the unique texture.

Turtle Beach Rematch Advanced Wired Controller features Hall Effect two-stop hair triggers. These allow you to adjust trigger travel to suit your game, a huge plus. There are also two remappable back buttons, dual rumble motors, and impulse triggers.
Your Controller
For deeper personalisation, you can use the Turtle Beach Control Hub app (available on Xbox), which lets you remap buttons, fine-tune trigger sensitivity, and adjust thumbstick dead zones.

Although it is wired, Turtle Beach Rematch Advanced Wired Controller comes with a detachable 2.5 m USB-C cable. This should be long enough for most setups. There is also a 3.5 mm audio jack for your headset, plus built-in audio controls on the d-pad that let you adjust volume and a mute button to silence your microphone with a single press.
Ergonomic Wins
Beyond the striking front, the controller has laser-etched textures on the triggers, thumbsticks, and grips, making it comfortable to hold, though it is surprisingly lightweight.

I tested the Rematch Advanced with The Outer Worlds 2, Battlefield 6, Ninja Gaiden 4, Forza Horizon 5, and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O., and it never missed a beat, performing impressively across all titles.
Price Proposition
For £35.99/€39.99, the Turtle Beach Rematch Advanced Wired Controller – Dark Cosmos Edition delivers precision, comfort, and plenty of style at a price that will not break the bank.

If you are looking for something attractive that truly stands out, the Rematch Advanced range is ideal.
