Custom Keys
HyperX Red linear switches come pre-installed and are hot-swappable, supporting both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches. These switches actuate at 1.8 mm with a total travel of 3.8 mm and require 45 g of force, offering smooth, consistent keypresses ideal for gaming and typing.
The keyboard supports an ultra-fast 8000 Hz polling rate, ensuring near-instantaneous input registration, which is particularly beneficial for competitive play.

Connectivity is one of HyperX Alloy Rise 75’s many strengths. 2.4GHz wireless (via USB dongle), Bluetooth 5.0, and USB-C wired open up the gaming keyboard up to a huge array of devices. Bluetooth allows pairing with up to three devices simultaneously. You can quickly jog between the three devices by hitting ‘Fn+F13’.
The 2.4GHz mode delivers low-latency performance and instant wireless access. The dongle is tiny and is kept in a recess hear the USB-C input and the tri-mode switch.
Long Runner
Battery life is rated up to 1500 hours with RGB off and around 80 hours with RGB lighting enabled. One clever trick that impressed me was the battery check function. Hit ‘Fn’ + /?’, and the 1-10 keys light up to show you how much juice you have left. The lower numbers even have yellow and red light to indicate its time to consider the charger.
Charging is handled via USB-C, and the keyboard includes an ambient light sensor to auto-adjust brightness.

The keycaps are double-shot PBT with side-printed legends for secondary functions, offering durability and a clean aesthetic. The keyboard also includes a programmable rotary knob and magnetic swappable top plates and badges, allowing users to personalise both function and appearance. RGB lighting is vibrant and customisable through HyperX Ngenuity software, though the software remains basic compared to competitors.
The frame combines an aluminium top plate with a plastic base, offering a sturdy, flex-free build. It’s compatible with PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series XS, Xbox One and more, so it is supremely versatile.
Earning Its Keep
HyperX Alloy Rise 75 Wireless will set you back a cool £199.99/€249.99, but it justifies its cost with premium features and build quality.
Some of the Fn shortcuts and on-board settings make life easier or enhance the user experience. I also love how all of the keys with Fn+ functions are near the Fn key so you can conveniently use these functions with one hand.

The jog wheel, which is set to be a volume and mute control by default, has a nice tactile notched effect. This is a neat addition, and it’s handled with the same premium touch as the rest of the device.
