Xiaomi 15 series has been unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Chinese electronics giant confirmed two devices – Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Both come with multiple Leica lenses as Xiaomi once again pitch photography as a key selling point. Xiaomi are promising ‘professional-grade photography and videography’ in both the 6.3″-display Xiaomi 15 and 6.7″-display Xiaomi Ultra.

At the MWC unveiling, pricing details were also made available. Xiaomi 15 comes to Ireland in Black and Green in the 12GB+512GB configuration, priced at €1,099. Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be available in Ireland in Silver Chrome in the 16GB+512GB configuration, priced at €1,599.
Leica-Led – Xiaomi 15
Xiaomi 15 sports a tripe-lens setup, led by a 50MP Light Fusion 900 sensor. The device can take macro photos with its secondary 50MP lens, while an ultrawide 50MP lens can take in 115 degrees to squeeze in all your friends.
The main 50 Leica Summilux optical lens incorporates 7P aspherical high-transmittance, an anti-glare coating and a large ƒ/1.62 aperture. The Light Fusion 900 covers three key focal lengths – 23mm, 28mm, and 35mm. The Leica 60mm floating telephoto camera can deliver macro shots at distances as close as 10cm. Xiaomi 15’s third lens, a Leica 14mm ultra-wide camera, sports a large ƒ/2.2 aperture.
All-Round Imaging – Xiaomi 15 Ultra
Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a four-lens main camera setup, led by a 50MP sensor with Super Pixel. The secondary lens, a 50MP IMX858 image sensor, can also take macro images. A 200MP telephoto lens combines optical zoom and the large sensor for a hybrid mode.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra imaging suite is led by a 23mm Leica 1-inch main lens with a 50MP Sony LYT-900 image sensor. The Summilux optical lens features a large ƒ/1.63 aperture, with variable focal lengths of 23mm, 28mm, and 35mm. For portraits and street photography, a Leica floating telephoto camera operates at the golden focal length of 70mm.

The Leica 200MP ultra telephoto camera operates on a focal length of 100mm, extendable to 200mm using in-sensor zoom technology. Finally, the 14mm Leica ultra-wide camera offers expansive fields of view for landscapes and group shots.
Fastshot mode, on both devices, enables ultra-fast photography with a capture speed of just 0.6 seconds.
Premium Displays
Xiaomi 15 Ultra boasts WQHD+ 6.73-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 3200×1440 pixels. The 1Hz Always-active Display can keep information like time, date, and notifications visible at a glance.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra introduces an upgraded ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which enables faster and more reliable unlocking, even with wet or dirty fingers, and performs exceptionally well in low-light conditions.

Xiaomi 15 sports a 6.36-inch ‘CrystalRes’ AMOLED display at a 2670 x 1200 resolution. with a pixel density of 460 ppi. The Xiaomi-custom M9 display panel gives a 10% reduction in power consumption versus Xiaomi 14 with the same outstanding colour, contrast and detail.
Both devices sport a 3200 nits multi-scenario peak brightness for vibrant HDR and outdoor use.
New HyperOS
Both devices in the Xiaomi 15 series run the latest HyperOS 2, based on Android 15. The company has promised upgrades in three keys areas of their operating system – Xiaomi HyperAI, Xiaomi HyperCore and Xiaomi HyperConnect.
Xiaomi HyperAI features a full-suite of productivity tools. HyperOS 2 features AI Writing and AI Speech Recognition. AI Creativity Assistant offers Xiaomi’s next-gen photographic and videography tools. Tools like AI Image Enhancement, AI Image Expansion, AI Eraser Pro, AI Reflection Removal, AI Magic Sky, and AI Film are incorporated into Gallery so you can access the rich features easily.

Xiaomi has collaborated with Google so Gemini can now find and take actions across Xiaomi apps. Users now have direct access to Xiaomi Notes, Xiaomi Calendar and Xiaomi Clock in Gemini for the first time.
Xiaomi HyperCore enhances system fluidity and performance, with system-level application upgrades and automated system management. HyperCore takes the aesthetic in a new direction, and boasts a new lock screen design with updated templates and styles that reflect ‘cinematic elements from the film world’.

Xiaomi HyperConnect connects a wide array of devices, platforms, and ecosystems, including tablets and iOS/macOS platforms. Cross-device Camera allows users to access another device’s camera while using the image processing power of Xiaomi 15 Series.
Users can also use Combined Cameras to combine and display video feeds from multiple devices. Perfect for shooting live events, lectures, or tutorial videos.

Pricing and Availability
Xiaomi 15 will be available in two colour options in Ireland – Black and Green. The 12GB+512GB configuration, priced at €1,099, comes to Ireland with Black available at Harvey Norman Ireland, Tesco Ireland, and Vodafone Ireland. Green is available from Harvey Norman.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be available in Silver Chrome in Ireland. The 16GB+512GB configuration, priced at €1,599, comes to Ireland via Harvey Norman Ireland and Tesco Ireland.
