The cohort of YouTube content creators eligible to make money from the platform will see a massive boost. YouTube has announced the expansion of its Partner Program to cater to smaller creators with Irish YouTubers set to benefit most.
This means that from today, thousands of creators in Ireland will now be able to earn money from YouTube for the first time. YouTube says that thousands of content creators in Ireland will be included in the expanded YouTube Partner Program (YPP).

The rollout sees fan-funding features like Super Chat, Super Thanks and Super Stickers. Eligible channels memberships available to Irish YouTubers with as few as 500 subscribers.

These features were designed to further solidify YouTube’s leading role in financially rewarding creators on its platform.
YouTube opened up today a new tier in its partnerships program (YPP). This tier enables eligible creators to activate fan-funding features known as Super Chat, Super Thanks, Super Stickers, and channel memberships.
Julie Dilger, Google Ireland Head of External Communications said of the expansion: “Creators are the lifeblood of YouTube. And we’re invested in making it the most rewarding place for them — creatively, emotionally and financially.
“We hope that this lower eligibility criteria will help support creators who are early in their YouTube journey, paving the way for a new generation of content creators.”

These new fan-funding features will be available to creators in Ireland with 500 subscribers as well as three public uploads in the last 90 days. Content creators must also have either 3,000 watch hours in the last 365 days. Or three million Shorts views in the last 90 days.
Active Community Cash
Super Chat and Super Stickers allow viewers to purchase brightly coloured messages and stickers to use during live streams and Premieres hosted by creators. These features generate income for the channel and create a buzz around premieres and live streams.
Super Thanks allow a small financial contribution to the content creator. It’s also a great way to show others your dedication to the channel.
Channel memberships allow viewers to join a creator’s channel through monthly payments. Memberships give members-only perks like badges, emoji, and other goods.
