A study by one of Europe’s largest independent electrical retailers, Ebuyer, has revealed the most popular games across 26 countries in the region. Some of the titles that dominate search and social media are perhaps no surprise but each country’s favourite may tickle you a little.
The study by the largest independent electrical retailer in the UK also showed a 124% increase in searches for ‘upcoming video games’ this year suggesting the freedom to roam hasn’t reduced our appetite for gaming.
Both the UK and Ireland’s favourites are Call of Duty titles. Though it’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II in the UK and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in Ireland.

Germany favourite is LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga while Belgium loves Animal Crossing: New Horizon.
Some interesting games stand out from the list. FIFA 22 is most popular in Luxembourg. The Grand Duchy is not known for their association football prowess and they are the smallest nation on the list.
Pokémon Red endures and is the most popular game in Italy and the Netherlands. Whilst initially released in 1985 and continuously updated, Super Mario Bros is still top dog with gaming aficionados in Greece.
