Turtle Beach has a stellar reputation for providing both budget and high-end audio solutions for gamers worldwide. Entering their third console generation, Turtle Beach is positioning Stealth 600 Gen 2 as the best wireless headset for the Xbox One/Xbox Series X/S.

The main selling point of Stealth 600 Gen 2 is a completely wireless solution that syncs directly with consoles.And Windows 10 devices with built-in Xbox wireless – Direct wireless connection. Here’s the specs:
Superb Build Quality
Turtle Beach is positioning the Stealth 600 Gen 2 as a budget-focused headset over the Stealth 700, and it’s a solid piece of kit. It clamps onto the user’s head with the comfort and security of a cushioned crab claw. Whilst keeping a firm grip on the top of a user’s head and cupping ears, players won’t suffer clammy ears or flop sweat from the headset band.
The fabric padding makes this headset breathable and ready for up to 15 hours of gameplay it boasts. The headband is sturdy and requires slight force to extend and retract, great quality for a heavy headset user.
It’s quite a challenge finding a headset that gets on with glasses, but Turtle Beach have you covered with this headset. The ergonomics of Stealth 600 Gen 2 are all on the left-hand side of the headset. Volume, Chat Mixer control, Mode switching, Power, and Sync are all accessible and nicely positioned. The USB-C charging port is also discreet.
Sounds Beachin’
Stealth 600 Gen 2 supports Windows Sonic surround sound. Rather than being the real McCoy Dolby Atmos 7.1 effort, it’s more of an emulation. Whilst players won’t quite feel that gunshot behind them, they will feel a sense of immersion with atmospheric and ethereal effects. The Ori series is a great example and test of this software. It’s 50mm Twin speakers pack a punch in highs and mids, but scoop slightly on lows. Stealth 600 Gen 2 is a sub £100/€120 headset, so this is to be expected. It still provides sufficient bass when it counts and overall has a superb sonic value.
The flip-up omni-directional mic design is also well-implemented. Keeping the mic flipped up mutes, whilst flipping down activates. This simple design choice just makes sense, turning a button press into a natural gesture. The audio quality is excellent, testing this mic on a Twitch stream via the Xbox app provided a crisp yet full feed that sounds premium. Turtle Beach have definitely kept streamers/online gamers in mind with Stealth 600.

9th Gen Syncing
Turtle Beach are amongst other wireless headset manufacturers who suffer with the Xbox Series X/S controller signal issues. The new controller outputs a slightly more aggressive wireless signal which allows for faster syncing/input, which also distorts wireless headsets. The easy fix is simple:
- Turn on Xbox Series X/S at the console on button
- Turn on the Stealth 600 Gen 2 headset and wait for it to Sync
- Turn on the Xbox Series X/S Controller
Whilst it’s not ideal, it’s not a deal-breaker and it’s certainly not a problem with Turtle Beach products. Another alternative would be to use an Xbox One Controller, but where’s the fun in that? The Turtle Beach audio hub is a simple and fast way to reset, update and mess around with the setting on Stealth 600 Gen 2. It’s available for PC, Mac, Android and Apple devices.
