Dual Lens arrangement on Galaxy S25 Edge

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge review – Underrated Gem

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is a phone that entered the world with far more negativity than it deserved. Early opinions painted it as oddly positioned in the market and somehow less ‘flagship’ than the rest of the S25 line. At the time, I felt that the reaction was unusually harsh for a device nobody had held yet. Well, having spent a few weeks with Galaxy S25 Edge as my daily driver, I feel a bit sad that Samsung may not be making a follow-up.

This is a slim, elegant and surprisingly capable handset with a strong identity and a practical design. It’s not trying to be S25 Ultra. It is, however, trying to be the phone that feels oh-so-good to use every day, and it succeeds far more often than not.

A Masterpiece that Deserves to Be Held

Galaxy S25 Edge is one of Samsung’s most distinctive designs in years. At 5.8 mm thick and just 163 g, it is astonishingly light for a modern smartphone. You notice it immediately. It feels almost weightless compared to the dense slabs that dominate the market, yet it avoids feeling cheap or hollow. The internal structure is rigid, the frame does not flex, and the materials feel premium.

The design language is clean and confident. The phone has straight edges and flat surfaces, with curved corners that soften the silhouette without compromising grip. It wears a ‘friendly box’ shape, not the industrial look of some rivals. The slimness is eye-catching on its own, and that sharp, minimalist visual design shows Samsung understood this perfectly.

The aluminium frame has a soft matte finish that gives enough grip without losing its premium feel, and the satin glass back resists fingerprints while catching light in a subtle, refined way.

Thinnest smartphones miniaturisation

This is a device that feels intentional. Samsung has not chased trends here. It has made something comfortable, elegant and easy to live with. Galaxy S25 Edge is the kind of phone you pick up and immediately understand. S25 Edge is simple, but not plain. Slim, but not fragile. Light, but not flimsy. In a market where many phones feel interchangeable, this one stands out.

Deepest, Flattest Screen

The 6.7‑inch Dynamic AMOLED panel is one of Galaxy S25 Edge’s strongest features. It is flat, bright and crisp, with Samsung’s usual colour accuracy and contrast. Peak brightness reaches around 2,600 nits, which keeps outdoor visibility strong even in direct sunlight. Indoors, the display is vibrant without being oversaturated, and the adaptive refresh rate of 1–120 Hz keeps animations smooth and scrolling fluid.

HDR performance is excellent, with deep blacks and controlled highlights. The flat panel also helps with touch accuracy and avoids the accidental touches that curved screens sometimes cause. The bezels are slim without being fragile, and the overall viewing experience feels premium.

Surprising Power

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge uses the same customised Snapdragon chipset found across the S25 family. Performance is strong, with enough power for gaming, multitasking and heavy apps. Benchmarks place it close to the S25 and S25+, and in daily use it feels just as quick. Apps open instantly, animations are smooth and the phone rarely stutters.

Thermals are stable thanks to a redesigned vapour chamber that spreads heat more efficiently. The phone stays cool during extended video capture or gaming sessions. One UI 7 feels lighter and more responsive than previous versions, and Samsung’s AI features run quietly in the background without slowing the device.

In everyday use, the S25 Edge feels fast, fluid and reliable – the kind of performance that gets out of the way and lets you get on with your day.

Photo and Video Utility Player

The S25 Edge has a simpler camera system than its siblings, but it is better than the numbers suggest. The main 200 MP sensor is the star. It captures sharp, detailed shots with excellent dynamic range. Samsung’s processing is more restrained this year, with more natural skin tones and less aggressive sharpening. The 12 MP ultrawide is consistent and handles daylight scenes well.

There is no optical zoom, which will disappoint some users, but digital zoom from the 200 MP sensor is surprisingly usable for casual shots. It is not a replacement for a dedicated telephoto lens, but it is good enough for social media and everyday photography.

Low‑light performance is strong, with cleaner shadows and more accurate colours than previous mid‑tier Galaxy models. Night mode is faster and produces less noise. Video performance is solid, with stabilisation that keeps footage steady even when walking. 4K at 60 fps looks crisp, and HDR10+ recording remains a standout feature.

This is not a camera system for enthusiasts, but it is dependable and well tuned for everyday use. It is the kind of camera that produces good results without much effort.

Battery Concerns Unfounded

The S25 Edge’s slim frame houses a 3,900 mAh battery. On paper, that looks small, but efficiency gains from the chipset and display help it deliver a full day of mixed use for most people.

Light users will stretch it further, while heavy users may need a top‑up in the evening. Samsung’s battery health tools help extend long‑term lifespan.

Charging is fast, with 25 W wired charging taking the phone from empty to around 55% in half an hour. Wireless charging is supported at 15W.

It is not a battery champion, but it performs better than expected for a device this thin. The balance between size, weight and stamina is handled well.

Luxury Everyday Experience

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is a phone that feels good to use. The slim frame makes it comfortable to hold for long periods. The light weight makes it easy to slip into a pocket or bag. The flat display is responsive and clear. The software is smooth and predictable. The camera is reliable. The battery lasts longer than you would expect, and certainly long enough for most users.

It is a device that prioritises comfort and practicality over raw power or feature overload. It is the kind of phone that disappears into your routine, which is a compliment.

Samsung’s Galaxy AI features also help. They run quietly in the background, offering small conveniences rather than dramatic interventions. Photo editing is easier. Document scanning is cleaner. Suggestions are timely without being intrusive. It is a subtle layer of intelligence rather than a marketing gimmick.

Ultimately, Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is not for everybody. Edge is a phone for people who value design, comfort and character, and who won’t mind sacrificing a zoom lens and a couple of hours of stamina for those privileges. It’s one of Samsung’s most underrated phones ever, and one of the most distinctive non-folding devices to have crossed our desk in years.
