Chinese phone giant OnePlus is rumoured to be going back to more budget-friendly phones with the rumoured OnePlus Z. Having just recently launched the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro for €719 and €919 respectively, the Z will be the more budget-friendly device.
However, that doesn’t mean it’ll skimp out on specs if reports are to be believed.
5G is Coming to OnePlus 7
According to numerous sources, it’ll have the Snapdragon 765G processor, which is also 5G capable. Interestingly enough, the 765G chipset comes with an integrated 5G chip. This setup is generally seen as superior with lower power usage and faster potential throughput.
Z will also pack a 90Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, 6.4 inch AMOLED screen and 128 GB of non-expandable storage. An AMOLED display at that sort of price will be welcome and should offer strong HDR media playback.
128GB is a decent figure – a few in its market offer 64GB versions. 8GB of RAM is par for a sub-premium or expensive mid-range device.
With these rumoured specs, you’d hope that a price around €499 would be the target for OnePlus.
A Competitive Market
If true, OnePlus 7 would be directly up against the likes of soon-to-be-launched Nokia 8.3 5G and LG Velvet. From the early specs OnePlus 7 gives more bang for your buck than the stripped back and pricy OnePlus 8.
But, if mid-range devices don’t really tickle your fancy, fear not. We at Techstomper have you covered.
