Is Open AI Chat GPT Down? At the moment, we can see via Down Detector that reports are spiking. With AI competitors such as Google Bard closing the gap with AI-generated content, it won’t take much for users to switch sides regarding the artificial intelligence content war.
**This is an unfolding story; more updates will appear here as we have them.**
Open AI Chat GPT downtime seems to be affecting all users, judging by the Down Detector comments section:
Looking at social media, X users are reporting that even paid subscribers can’t log in, making the benefit of being able to use Open AI Chat GPT during peek periods redundant:
Why is Open AI Chat GPT Down?
Chat GPT stops its free users from accessing the service once servers reaches capacity to ensure its paid users can access the latest build. Unfortunately, even paid users cannot log in with their own custom links.
Users are simply met with an error code stating, “Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information).”
Open AI has yet to acknowledge the downtime publicly, so it’s not known if this is an internal issue with their servers or a malicious attack. If it’s the latter, we’ll probably look at a DDoS Attack (Denial of service). This is where someone sends multiple requests to access a website to the point where it crashes a server.
Hopefully, this is not the case, and Open AI will have all of its AI services up and running as normal sooner rather than later. Founded by Elon Musk and others in 2015, OpenAI was created to fight against the misuse of artificial intelligence by creating market-leading code and software to set the standard of AI ethics. Musk later left after the company moved from a non-profit model to a capped-profit, going against the founders original intentions.
