Huawei Developer Conference 2020 continued today with their Seamless AI Life showcase. The Chinese company showed some of the company’s upcoming products and in particular, two additions to their Watch line-up.
Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro
Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro is a premium redesign of their Huawei Watch GT 2 series that also adds some new features. The watch-face and surround is now flat with the rear now composed of ceramic.
Golf types, ‘professional’ outdoors types and skiers are now catered for. Watch GT 2 Pro can analyse your swing using five different metrics as well as track the exercise gleaned from playing a round. GT 2 Pro tracks your progress across the pistes, covering snowboarding as well as downhill and cross-country skiing.
GPS and AI team up to offer enhanced tracking options for hiking or orienteering. Watch GT 2 Pro can alert you when you are leaving acceptable GPS coverage as well help you find a stronger signal. Working with your smartphone, GT 2 Pro is able to work out a route back to where you started your adventure.
Watch GT 2 Pro comes with three trim levels. ‘Porsche Design’ is engraved on the watch-face surround while the three Porsche, Sport and Classic editions each come with different strap types. Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro Classic is priced at €299 and is set for release at the end of September.
Huawei Watch Fit
The second smartwatch of Huawei Developer Conference stands out for a few reasons. Huawei Watch Fit features a textured polymer on a bold rectangular design in four colours with the €129 pricetag also catching the eye.
Watch Fit’s 1.64″ display is a large canvass for some pretty watch-face designs and Huawei showed off quite a few. This display is applied to the underside of the face giving a 2.5D effect.
Huawei Watch Fit offers almost a hundred workout modes, 12 easy fitness courses and the ability to track your run without a phone. It also weighs just 34 grams and is a maximum of 12.3mm thick so you can move unimpeded.
Watch Fit too has a premium edition. The Elegant Edition replaces the polymer with stainless steel with frosted glass and comes in two colours, black and white.
Black Elegant Edition sports a silver watch unit and clasp while the White EE comes with a gold unit and clasp. Huawei Watch Fit is available mid-September.
