Google Pixel 9a has been announced as the US firm promises the “fastest, most efficient chip yet”, their own Tensor G4. Starting at €559, Pixel 9a offers the full suite of Google AI, and a 6.3-inch Actua Display comparable to the market-best screens seen on Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The device also brings a slew of premium hardware features to the mid-range, particularly in key youth-oriented areas.

The social media generation is a target for Google with Pixel 9a with a strong imaging hardware and software package. Indeed, Pixel 9a comes with the company’s market-leading AI-editing suite.
Google is also pitching Pixel 9a as a great entry device for teens, offering a comprehensive set of parental locks and supervisory features to keep their kids safe as they take their first smartphone steps.
Refreshed A-Series
Google Pixel 9a has a fresh look, featuring a sleek, flat profile, rounded edges and an upgraded 6.3-inch Actua display. This is the brightest display on an A-series ever — 35% brighter than Pixel 8a at 2700 nits.
The device also boasts a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate for a smoother, more vibrant experience, that doesn’t compromise power efficiency. Google Pixel 9a comes in four colourways – Obsidian, Porcelain, Peony and Iris.

Pixel 9a features a dual rear camera system has both a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 48MP main camera. The device aslo features a Macro Focus – the first on an A-Series device.
Pixel 9a is also equipped with a comprehensive suite of AI-powered photography features.The Add Me feature, which debuted on the Pixel 9, is now available on the Pixel 9a. This feature seamlessly merges two group photos into one, ensuring that everyone, including the photographer, is included in the photo. Best Take allows you to create the ideal group photo by seamlessly combining facial expressions from multiple photos into one.

Magic Editor with Auto Frame can automatically reframe your photos, whether they are new or old. It suggests the best crop and even expands your image to capture more of the scene. Additionally, you can reimagine photos in Magic Editor, such as adding fall leaves or green grass. Simply tap on what you want to change in the photo and type what you want to see.
