Google hosted their Made By Google 2024 online event on Tuesday 13th August with some exciting new gear on show, along with updates to the company’s AI and software suite. The biggest breakthrough announced during the event was Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which the company can boast as their thinnest foldable yet at just 10.5mm thick when folded.

At only around 2mm thicker than most non-foldables, Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold might be the first truly pocketable book-style foldable device. Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is available to pre-order from today Tuesday 13 August, starting at €1,899.
Next-Gen Foldable
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will see a wide release across Europe, including Ireland and the UK. Pixel 9 Pro Fold is the thinnest Google Fold yet at just 10.5mm. Google’s new Fold is thinner than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, and only a shade thicker than Honor Magic V2 and V3, the current thinnest foldables on the market.
The device is also the first to offer a full-sized display in a 20:9 aspect ratio similar to non-foldable devices.
The 8-inch inner display is 80% brighter than Google’s previous foldable effort. And with Split Screen you can open a wide range of productivity and entertainment apps side-by-side.
Gemini comes built into all four Google Pixel devices announced at Made By Google 2024. But, Google Pixel Fold can leverage the power of Gemini to make AI notes of screenshots. Gemini can also synthesis responses or invites to friends based on the content of the screenshot.

Google Pixel Fold is available in Ireland to pre-order from 13 August in Obsidian (black) and Porcelain (white) from €1,899.
