As click and collect won’t be available, they’ll email you out a gift code with the amount of the PS4 you’ve previously paid off. Then follow the simple instructions and pay the €3.50 for tracked delivery and enjoy your PS5 in the coming days.
It seems like the never-ending wait for the third wave of PS5 stock to hit Irish stores is coming to an end, but don’t expect a flood of consoles.
This morning there were deliveries to numerous DID Electrical stores across the country with most stores seemingly given around five consoles each. According to numerous users on boards.ie, PlayStation 5 stock will be in Dublin stores on Wednesday and the rest of the country by Friday.

However, you can’t just buy the console as DID Electrical is one of several stores that force you to buy the console bundled with an extra controller and/or a game.
So, you’ll likely have to fork out considerably more than the €499 for the disc version with DID charging around €650 for various bundles. Judging by the online message boards, you’ll have a choice between Demon’s Souls or Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales plus an extra DualSense controller. With a store like DID Electrical, which is far from a hotspot for consoles and games, getting shipments of PS5s, news from Smyths should be incoming very soon.
It’s been a struggle for Irish consumers to get their hands on the PS5. While we’ve seen numerous restocks in the UK and America with PS5 consoles available to buy since early December.
Smyths Ireland continues to say that stock will be arriving in January 2021. But with the consignment likely being brought through the UK before being shipped to Ireland, the logistical friction caused by Brexit may delay delivery to consumers.
Harvey Norman have removed the PS5 console from their website with a big banner saying “PS5 Sold Out”. Keep an eye on their socials for when new stock becomes available.
