Xbox has finally confirmed the worst kept secret in modern gaming history by confirming the budget Xbox Series S.
Coming in at €299, the Series S will be the smallest console they’ve ever made with more details about the system “coming soon”.
There have been leaks galore in the past month with controllers being sold bearing the Xbox Series S name.
Now, it seems the dam has finally burst with Microsoft confirming the existence of this 4 teraflop machine.
Windows Central is reporting that both Xbox Series X and S will launch worldwide on November 10 for €499 and €299 respectively.
So, what about the specs?
Essentially, the Series S was built to play Series X games at a lower resolution. So, it’s rumoured to have a 4 teraflop RDNA 2 GPU, Zen 2 CPU, 10GB of RAM, 512GB NVME SSD, and it will be targeting 1440p at up to 120fps.
The Series S will also support ray tracing, variable-rate shading and variable refresh rate. It doesn’t have a disc drive but it will have 4K media streaming and 4K upscaling for games.
So, which console will you be picking up? Will this budget series S option tempt you to get the PS5 as well? Two digital consoles…madness!!
