PS5 stock looks set to be replenished in Ireland and around Europe later this week, according to multiple stock tracker accounts on twitter.
So far, the PS5 has had two wave of stock replenishments across multiple outlets in Ireland but there hasn’t been more PS5 consoles since early December.
According to Twitter account, DualSensor, PS5 stock is coming this week and should be in warehouses by Thursday, the 7th of January. Over 4 million PS5 consoles have been sold so far across the globe. Sony plans on selling at least another 14 million consoles through 2021.
Whether this third wave of PS5 stock is enough to fulfil pre-orders at stores like GameStop remains to be seen. The company allegedly took pre-orders for the PS5 over a year before it was revealed. I have yet to secure a PS5 from GameStop even though I preordered on the 14th of September. Who knows how many more folks are in the same position?
Stock in the UK
The UK will also be getting a restock of PS5 although we don’t know yet whether the Brexit deal they signed will affect delivery times.
The UK Twitter account @PS5Instant posted: “ASDA said they expected stock as soon as Boxing Day. But this can be as late as 2021 Jan 1st week. A huge third shipment is being prepared to be sent to the UK soon, expected date 1st week Jan but can be delayed due to our port issues.”
With this massive new shipment of PS5 consoles, we can only hope that scalpers don’t get their greedy mitts on it. A group of UK scalpers claimed to have purchased more than 3000 consoles when they first went on sale.
The prices that some scalpers are charging has dropped 20-25% during December as the Christmas rush has ended.
