PlayStation has announced a new initiative on their blog that will hopefully help the millions of people stuck at home due to COVID-19.
It’s called Play At Home and involves two measures that will help both gamers and indie developers.
Firstly, Sony Interactive Entertainment will be providing free copies of Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey to every PS4 owner as a digital download.
Starting April 15, and running until May 5, users can download both for free. However, in Germany and China, they will get free copies of Journey and Knack 2.
The Nathan Drake Collection contains the first three uncharted games, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
All have been remastered to take full advantage of the PS4.
Journey is one of those games that not many people saw coming but that went on to become a classic on the PS4.
The other announcement from PlayStation was the creation of a fund to help small indie developers.
SIE have put aside €10 million so far to help with financial struggles so many independent studios are facing.
