Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Uses United Ireland Flag

Well here’s a story we never thought we’d be writing but it turns out that Insomniac Games, the developers behind Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales are supportive of a United Ireland.

That’s because at the UN building in New York, the devs sought to not use the Tri-Colour, the flag of 26 counties in the Republic, but instead a flag that was used by the United Irishmen.

So, what was the United Irishmen. It was a secret organisation from the 18th century that recruited “Catholic, Protestant and Dissenter” to break the link with Britain.

Led by Theobald Wolfe Tone, he along with other founding members took inspiration from the French Revolution which had happened in the years preceding. Unfortunately for Wolfe Tone, the rebellion failed in its attempt to break the link with Britain and was sentenced to death by the British.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Instead of the Tri-Colour, Spider-Man MM uses the flag that would best represent a United Ireland.

Spider-Man Miles Morales is available both on PS4 and PS5 and is a more streamlined experience compared to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man.

If you’ve yet to buy it or are on the fence, you can read our review here. Don’t forget that if you buy the Ultimate Edition on PS5, you get the remastered version of Spider-Man 2018 included.
