Google Reveals a Smorgasbord of Tech Including Pixel 5 + Pixel 4a

Well, Google was certainly busy today launching not one but two highly anticipated smartphones, namely, Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a.

That wasn’t all that Google had to offer. They also revealed a new Chromecast, along with a new speaker, Nest Audio. The Chromecast has an all-new design and can stream movies in up to 4K HDR 60fps while also supporting Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Talk about immersion.

A new voice remote has been added just to make it that much easier to control your tv. It also has 2 dedicated buttons for Netflix and YouTube. The new Chromecast with the remote and Google TV will cost just €69.99.

But the real stars of the show were the new Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a. With Pixel 5, this is Google’s first step into the world of 5G.

The Pixel phones have always been praised for their consumer-friendly price as well as excellent camera performance. The Pixel 4a continues that trend with its €382 price. It has the new Snapdragon 730G processor, so everything should run smoothly. You can pre-order the Pixel 4a here.

Meanwhile, Pixel 5 is Google’s premium offering this time around. It’s 5G capable thanks to the Snapdragon 765G processor. it also has 8GB of RAM and a 4000 mAh battery but only has an 18watt charger, so no fast-charging. Pixel 5 will cost €618 and is available for pre-order from Google.

Finally, we have the Nest Audio. This new speaker has been built with music in mind and is now 75% louder and has 50% more bass than the previous iteration.

You don’t have to worry about adjusting the audio when switching between music sources because Nest Audio “automatically tunes itself to whatever you’re listening to music, podcasts, audiobooks or even a response from Google Assistant.”

Nest Audio is available to pre order now from Google and it costs €98.
