We’ve had our hands on the Xbox Series X/S for some time now at TechStomper. It got us thinking, what enhanced titles are available right now? And which ones would we be happy to recommend to our readers?

Xbox Series X/S Essentials

Well, just in time for Christmas shopping, let’s have a look over five must-have Xbox Series X/S enhanced titles. Please note, these titles are enhanced versions of Xbox One games that we feel perform better on the Xbox Series X/S.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Featuring 4K 120FPS support on Xbox Series X and 1080P 120FPS on Xbox Series S, Chief has never looked smoother. The collection also features a field of view slider alongside improved split-screen functionality. Granted, we all wanted Halo: Infinite when next-gen dropped, but there’s never been a better time to relive Chiefs adventure. Just to note, Master Chief Collection is available on Game Pass Ultimate and features Halo Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo Reach and Halo:ODST,

Devil May Cry V: Special Edition

Devil May Cry V saw a return to form for the franchise after a mixed reaction to Ninja Theories DmC. Now players can rock up as Vergil, Dante’s Brother. A couple of difficulty intensifying modes enter the fight in Legendary Dark Mode and Turbo Mode. The first is a horde mode featuring huge numbers of enemies with the latter speeding up the game by 1.2x. Whilst high frame-rate mode needs 120FPS support, the special edition ray tracing support is only available to the Xbox Series X. Devil May Cry V: Special Edition has an RRP of £34.99.

Warhammer: Chaosbane Slayer Edition

The first Warhammer hack-and-slash game crashes onto the Series X/S with some killer additional features. Six character classes including the new Witch Hunter class, over 70 monsters to fight and redesigned areas alongside a new one, the cemetery. Chaosbane has been optimised for cooperative play and synergies between characters with a new boss rush mode. The slayer edition also contains all DLC and additional content. Warhammer: Chaosbane Slayer Edition has an RRP of £49.99.

The Falconeer

Indie developer Tomas Sala is the one-man powerhouse behind this dogfighting/open-world fantasy game. Scored by composer Benedict Nichols, players defend areas against pirates and other creatures on giant falcons. The Falconeer sports 60FPS @ 4K/120FPS at 1800p + HDR on Series X and 60FPS at 1800p/120FPS at 1080p. With a load time of 13 seconds and a small install size of 1.6GB, why not? The Falconeer has an RRP of £24.99

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

This Xbox Game Studios classic is now available with frame rate prioritizing ‘Performance Mode’ and visually enhancing ‘Fidelity Mode’. Xbox Series X allows for up to 6K Supersampling running at 60 FPS w/ HDR or simply 4K in 120FPS. Xbox Series S chalks up 1080p @ 120FPS or an upscaled 4K at 60FPS. What’s more? It’s already included in Game Pass Ultimate memberships.
